Terms & Conditions
Simple terms for using Sakinah.
We want these terms to be readable, fair, and clear. Sakinah exists to help Muslims receive calm WhatsApp prayer reminders, but it still depends on technology, third-party platforms, and the information you provide.

What Sakinah is
Sakinah is a WhatsApp-based prayer reminder service. It helps you receive reminders based on your location, timezone, and setup details.
Sakinah is a support tool. It is not a replacement for your own care, intention, local masjid timetable, qualified religious guidance, or common sense.
Using the service
By signing up, you confirm that you are using your own phone number or a number you are allowed to use, and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
You are responsible for keeping your location and phone number up to date enough for the service to work properly.
WhatsApp delivery and reliability
Sakinah depends on WhatsApp, Meta, external prayer time data, hosting, and other infrastructure. Because of that, we cannot promise that every message will arrive exactly on time, every time.
Messages may be delayed, blocked, duplicated, interrupted, or unavailable if one of those systems fails, changes, or limits access.
Prayer times and religious context
We do our best to calculate prayer times carefully based on the data and settings available to us. Even so, different local practices, methods, and circumstances can produce differences.
You should still use your judgment and local knowledge where needed, especially for Jumu'ah, Ramadan, travel, unusual locations, and special circumstances.
Respectful use
Please use Sakinah respectfully. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, impersonate others, or use it in ways that are abusive, deceptive, or harmful.
We may pause, limit, or stop access if a number or account is being used in a way that puts the service, other users, or our platform access at risk.
Pausing or stopping
You may stop using the service at any time. As self-serve controls grow, we also expect to support clearer pause, resume, and delete flows directly inside WhatsApp and the website.
Liability and expectations
Sakinah is provided in good faith and as available. We do not promise perfect uptime, perfect timing, or that the service will meet every personal, religious, or technical expectation in every situation.
To the extent allowed by law, Sakinah is not responsible for losses or harm caused by downtime, missed messages, delayed reminders, third-party outages, or inaccurate information supplied by users or external providers.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service grows. When we do, we will update the date above and aim to keep the language as clear as possible.
